William H. Copeland, Jr. CPA is the sole proprietor of Copeland LLC and is a summa cum laude graduate from Morgan State University’s Undergraduate School with a BS in Accounting. William matriculated to Morgan State University's Graduate School on an academic Graduate Assistant Scholarship and graduated with a MBA concentrated in Finance. During William’s 30 years of professional service, he has served as a Manager, Supervisory Financial Analyst, Auditor and Accountant with various employers, including the Internal Revenue Service (Income Tax & Accounting section of Chief Counsel and the Criminal Investigation Division), Verizon (Corporate Accounting Staff and Federal Systems Division), Department of Army, Ernst & Whinney (now Ernst & Young) and the Department of Defense.


In addition to being a licensed CPA in Maryland, William has earned, based on examination and experience, the Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) and Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) certificates, which are both currently in an active status. He has completed the course requirements and examinations for the Master's Certificate in Government Contracting from the George Washington University School of Business and has completed the University of Pennsylvania, The Wharton School, Bell Atlantic Leadership Challenge Development Program at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. William has also earned through experience the Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) certification and is certified as an Intuit Quickbooks ProAdvisor.


Prior to starting his professional CPA career, William served a tour in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Caloosahatchee (AO-98) as a Storekeeper in the Supply Department. With progressive experience over this military tour his responsibilities included logistics, tracking and reporting of the ship’s financial resources, cargo, and ship’s inventory materials management to include ship-to-ship and ship-to-base inventory and asset accounting, budget tracking and analysis and reporting the financial results through the Ship’s Supply Officer to the Ship’s Commanding Officer.
